On the corner of Calle Consell de Cent with Bailèn, you’ll find one of the city’s best spots for meeting up with friends any time of the day: Anita Flow. Inspired by the cheerful, energetic, and vibrant woman of the same name, it’s also imbued by some of her core values, which it shares with the public through its culinary offerings and relaxed, spontaneous vibe. This establishment celebrates impromptu meetings and welcomes guests to enjoy one another’s company while digging into freshly made comfort dishes highly reminiscent of your grandmother’s cooking.

When it comes to sharing conversation and small plates, Anita delights with baked potatoes prepared with chipotle and huancaína sauce, or the famous mezze platter with different dips and a wide array of flavors –a vegetarian option is also available– featuring muhammara pepper dip, baba ghanoush, beetroot hummus, olives, carrots, tomatoes, walnuts, feta, and succulent pita bread. There’s also burrata stracciatella with cilantro, mint, and date tapenade, or the classic chips and guacamole.

If you’re not ready for full-fledged lunch or dinner, you’ll likely be tempted by an array of small plates inspired by Anita’s travels around the world, and perfect for sharing with friends. You definitely won’t want to miss her famous roast chicken, served with vegetables. Other favorites include the tagliatelle with cherry tomato confit, basil, and parmesan; the Venezuelan corn cachapa with pork shank and authentic handmade cheese; Argentine ribs with chimichurri, baked potatoes and spinach; and the Yakimeshi Japanese-style rice with chicken and vegetables.

Open every day of the week, Anita Flow also offers brunch on the weekends, and is always planning special events, like parties, art shows, happy hours, or pop-up markets where you can view works by some of the city’s emerging artists.

There’s always something going on at Anita Flow, because it’s a place that truly brings people together.
