Twice a week, Tuesdays from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m., Hotel 1898 invites you to enjoy the best Catalan Rumba live in the heart of Las Ramblas.

The Catalan rumba, a musical genre that was born from the Catalan gypsy community in the city of Barcelona in the mid-60s, takes rhythms that derive from the flamenco rumba with influences from Cuban music and rock & roll.

This genre is based on a fusion of Catalan-Andalusian songs with the basic keys of Afro-Cuban music. Its identity signs are the 4/4 rhythm, the son patterns and the guaracha. Instrumentally it's accompanied by vocals and clapping with Spanish guitar, bongos, güiro, timbales, congas, small percussions, piano, winds, electric bass and electronic keyboards.
